If there were an award for the most quintessentially cottage chic bedspread ever, this beauty would take home the prize. She is in the most perfect shade of old-fashioned petal pink, adorned with floral pots overflowing with spring florals that would appear to be hyacinths, tulips, lilies and daffodils. Sweet petite white polka dots scattered across the spread add to the cozy cottage appeal.
This is a woven bedspread from the early 1950s having belonged to my late grandmother, and remains in strong condition with perhaps only a few pulls here and there to the threads. I was sure I saw two small less than 1″ or so long age spots while photographing but did not see them again when I brought the spread back inside. Regardless, as you can see, she is just gorgeous beyond words and would be the perfect add to your cottage chic boudoir. Beautifully feminine.
If you are not wishing to use this as a bedspread, what a lovely dimension she would add to your wicker or shabby white iron patio set in a sitting room, tossed effortlessly over your favorite chair, or in any number of projects – there are literally tons of flower pots that you could use in design applications. So pretty!
